Personal Injury
Welcome to the Personal Injury department!
Our Approach
Over the past few years the provision of legal services in relation to personal injury claims has undergone dramatic changes. Whilst there are now many corporations who process a very large number of claims at any given time, we recognize that injuries can have catastrophic affects on peoples' lives, therefore we provide a friendly, caring and local department with a focus on our clients and their individual needs.
At Crossmans we also have particular expertise for acting for associations, societies, unions and their membership in pursuing personal injury claims. We have expertise in acting for legal expense insurers and working within a framework of high quality performance criteria.

Funding
As one of our clients you can rest assured that every penny of the compensation awarded goes directly to you. Our legal costs are recovered in addition to the compensation we win for you. In the event that your case is unsuccessful, you do not pay anything.
Conditional Fee Agreements
We provide Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA’s) essentially known as a “No Win, No Fee” scheme, where there is no charge to you whether your case is won or lost.
Although we strongly believe that the claims we adopt are likely to succeed, we strongly recommend that we insure against the risk of having to pay your opponent’s costs and disbursements and therefore underwrite our CFA’s with an after the event insurance policy. We take particular care to ensure that the quality of the conditional fee agreement after the event policy is suitable to your circumstances.
Collective Conditional Fee Agreements
You may be a member of a Trade Union or other organization who assist their members in funding litigation. This may be via a collective conditional fee agreement.
Collective conditional fee agreements (CCFA’s) are intended for bulk purchasers of legal services using CFAs such as trade unions and commercial organisations. They enable bulk purchasers to enter into a single agreement with solicitors to allow them to run their members’ cases. The agreement does not have to refer to specific proceedings, but will provide for fees to be payable on a common basis in relation to a class of proceedings.
Legal Expenses Insurance
Legal expenses insurance or legal protection insurance is taken out by individuals or companies for to pursue legal actions where legal expense will be incurred.
You or your partner (if any) may have a legal expenses insurance policy attached to a vehicle or home contents or buildings insurance policy, or you may have credit cards which provide legal expense cover.
Legal expenses is typically sold as an add-on to insurance through a scheme but can be sold as a stand alone product. If you are unsure, it is essential that you check the terms of the policy. If it is available you may find that the insurance company refers you to its own panel of solicitors. However you do have the right to choose who represents you.
