Individual
Dispute
Crossmans has substantial experience of helping Individuals who are involved in disputes. These can take a wide variety of forms but in all cases we take a practical view. Our services run from the full legal representation through to advice of the merits and procedures in your case.
Areas in which we have expertise include:
- Disputes with builders or trades people who have failed to carry out or complete their contract
- Disputes can range from minor matters to contracts costing thousands to complete
- Property matters arising from family disputes, neighbour rights disagreements or boundary issues
- Contentious matters arising from Probate (Will disputes etc.)
- Claims arising from lost or ruined special circumstances such as weddings or holidays
- Claims over the supply or quality of goods and equipment such as computer warranty claims
- Misrepresentation or other disputes arising from conveyancing.
Other situations are often unique to the parties but in all cases we work to achieve a practical result which meets the Client's needs without undue expense or complexity. We will use Ombudsman or other schemes where appropriate and will assist litigants in person if we believe that would be the best way for the Claim to proceed.
The Courts now require virtually all claims worth less than £5,000 to be dealt with in the Small Claims Track. Most claims dealt with in this way do not attract legal costs for the winner so we have to be very careful to ensure that our services to you remain cost effective.
Cases heard in the Fast Track or Multi Track do provide for costs for the winner but can be both expensive and risky. We always ensure that you are fully aware of the potential risks as well as the potential gains before we accept your instructions to issue proceedings
We offer a fixed fee scheme for initial advice and an assessment of the best way of achieving your objective.
