Commerical
The Commercial department provides a comprehensive service to business and commerce in both Crossmans’s offices. We wish to be the businessman’s friend and guide in these ever more complex days of regulation. We focus on all types of businesses, however small or large, and delight in helping the new business.
In that regard our practitioners are always willing to discuss commercial concerns briefly on the telephone or (if that proves inappropriate) by short initial meeting without any obligation or cost, to enable the enquirer to establish whether seeking legal advice in the particular situation is worthwhile and what such a service is likely to cost.
The commercial department can assist in:
- setting up in business
- provision of partnership or shareholder agreements
- incorporation
- credit control
- contracts
- web site terms and conditions
- employment issues
- commercial property (including landlord and tenant issues)
- commercial disputes whether external or internal to the business.
Computerised Debt Recovery
We can offer a very cost effective debt recovery/credit control service. See our litigation and debt recovery sections for further details.
Setting up?
Anyone considering setting up in business needs to consider the structure which suits them best.
Sole Trader or Partnership
Your liability is unlimited - so everything you own personally, including your house, even jointly owned property with with your spouse or 'partner', could be at risk, if your business fails owing debts. It is simple and infinitely flexible if you are going into business with another, a partnership agreement is an essential precaution and we can help you with this.
Incorporate - create your own limited liability company
This will limit your liability to the assets of the Company providing you comply with the obligations of a director. In view of the formal nature of a company structure it is a little less flexible than the partnership world. We can advise you on the model to use, shareholders agreements etc. The art of setting up is moderate and little different from Partnership.
